Kingfisher: nests in burrows in stable banks of ponds and streams Little ringed plover: a summer migrant that lays eggs directly on bare and stony ground near water Oystercatcher: they make a rudimentary nest on pebbly ground Shelduck: nests in rabbit burrows in earth banks Sand martin: nests in tunnels in sandy banks Common tern: nests in open situations near water. It will use floating rafts to nest away from ground predators
