05. 14/02/2011: Schedule for relocating UKCS cores from Gilmerton (Edinburgh) to the National Geoscience Data Centre Core Store at Keyworth
The transfer of UKCS cores and samples from Gilmerton to Keyworth is planned to commence shortly. The cores will be transferred essentially in the order that they were originally received at Gilmerton and the previous UKCS core stores. Details of anticipated transfer dates and a detailed monthly schedule will be posted on the BGS internet site.

10. 05/11/2010: Scottish Hydrocarbons Teaching Collection
Discussions with the user community over the transfer of the UKCS hydrocarbon cores from the Gilmerton core store to the new facility at Keyworth have highlighted the particular problems of the Scottish Universities who are using Gilmerton for undergraduate and MSc courses. The BGS is addressing these with the establishment of the Scottish Hydrocarbons Teaching Collection, to be located at Murchison House, Edinburgh.
