Coastal-Marine Photographs

Dataset description

This is the collection of marine photographs held by BGS. The bulk of photographs are of sliced core section from boreholes and shallow cores. There are some sea-bed photographs and also photographs of survey operations. Most photographs from the UKCS (United Kingdom Continental Shelf) and surrounding areas. The bulk of the photographs were created in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990's with ongoing additions each year. The photographs are archived in the Edinburgh and Keyworth offices of BGS. The photographs are applicable to a wide range of uses including environmental, geotechnical and geological studies
