La Soufrière

La Soufrière is on St Vincent in the Windward Islands. It should not be confused with the Soufrière Hills volcano on Montserrat (Soufrière means sulphur outlet or mine). The volcano has erupted several times including in 1902 just a few hours before the eruption of Mount Pelée. The most recent eruption was in 1979.
