| Author statement | Original geological survey on the 1:63 360 scale by A.R. Selwyn and A.C. Ramsay, published on Old Series sheets 59 SE in 1848 and 59 NE in 1850. Surveyed on the 1:10 000 scale by W.T. Pratt, D.G. Woodhall, R. Cave, M.F. Howells and R.A.B. Bazley. Post-Aran Volcanic Group strata surveyed mainly by M.S. Scott, W.T. Pratt and M.J. Leng between 1986 and 1989 as part of a NERC/University of Wales, Aberystwyth, mapping contract, supervisor W.R. Fitches. Solid geology north of Mawddach estuary compiled from 1:10 560 field maps of C.A. Matley and T.S. Wilson (1946); drift mapped at 1:25 000 by A.A. Jackson and P.M. Allen. Biostratigraphy by A.W.A. Rushton, S.G. Molyneux, J.A. Zalasiewicz, S.P. Tunnicliff and D.K. Loydell (University of Wales, Aberystwyth). Geophysics by R.M. Carruthers. R.A.B. Bazley and R.W. Gallois, Regional Geologists. |
