| Author statement | Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale by Sir H.T. De la Beche, CB, FRS. Resurveyed on the One-Inch Old Series Maps by W.A.E. Ussher, H.B. Woodward and C. Reid, 1870-75 and the geology transferred to the New Series Maps with additions by A.J. Jukes-Brown, in 1892. Published with superficial deposits 1906. Revision of the Devonian and Carboniferous rocks at 1:10 560 scale by J.M. Thomas of Exeter University; reconstituted from the one-inch scale without other geological revision and reprinted onto the 1st Series 1:50 000 base, 1976. Surveyed at 1:10 000 scale by S.J. Booth, C.E. Burt, R.A. Ellison, R.J.O. Hamblin, L.M. Hollick, K.R. Royse and R.C. Scrivener between 2002 and 2004. P.J. Strange, Regional Geologist. |
