Welcome to the Planning4Minerals website
|
This site is a training resource in key planning issues related to aggregate minerals. It is aimed principally at Councillors and Officers in the Regional Assemblies and Mineral Planning Authorities in England, although it may also be of interest to other stakeholders in the minerals sector. Our web-based training package incorporates a series of topic overviews covering five themes (see below). Each overview provides information in a concise form explaining why each theme is important.
Planning: detailing the role of different organisations in mineral planning from international bodies such as the EU to local parish groups and individuals.
Planning process: providing information on the guiding principles and key mechanisms that form the processes of obtaining planning permission.
Environment: discussing key environmental concerns, impacts and benefits of aggregate extraction.
Resources: explaining what aggregates are, where and how they are worked.
Economics: showing the significance of aggregates within the economy, nationally and locally.
