Above lithological change from limestone to calcareous siltstone (at Ludlow) (Holland and others 1963); Top of highest nodular limestone of Aymestry limestone. (South Staffordshire) 
Definition of Upper Boundary:
Base of cross bedded sandstone of Downton Castle Sandstone; locally at base of Ludlow Bone Bed.
