A single sign-on one stop shop for trusted environmental data from ESSP

Our ambition for DataSpring

DataSpring is an API management system that delivers environmental data, on demand, direct from source. It gives you

  • A discovery interface to find the right environmental data API
  • Plain-English metadata and documentation to understand each dataset and its technical constraints
  • Single sign-on
  • Cross-API security token access
  • A set of standard licenses including OGL Evaluation and Commercial

Give DataSpring a try

DataSpring is now running as a prototype service with access to a number of open datasets from some of the UK government’s major environmental data holding organisations. As a data user, we want to engage with you to better understand your requirements to improve this service. Please help us give the service you need to allow you to realise the potential of government data.

Please note
Over coming months DataSpring will be refreshed with a clearer lay out, more useable and useful content and user guides. We hope to launch DataSpring as a persistent test-bed in Spring 2017 with consistent developer licensing across open and restricted access data. This new approach to data access will help developers discover new ways of working with our data and allow us to test out new datasets with developers.
